I originally cut this reel back in 2002 or 03 I think.  It showcases Before & After shots/comps.  The last shot (last "Before & After" in this reel, Mouse trap) was a fun one.  Clients were hoping to have a fuller feel, more impact of the toy mouse being smashed to pieces but the original plate didn't have much.  So I picked up some key/still frames of those broken pieces (the cogs, wheels, etc) from the original plate and hand-animated all those pieces (keeping gravity etc in mind) for a bigger impact.  After everything said and done and with the help of the appropriate audio mix conforming to the animations of the flying broken parts in the final comp, the shot turned out well.
